Integrated Swedish Massage
A combination of Swedish massage and deep tissue, customized to the unique needs of each client. Swedish massage is the most common form of massage given and incorporates multiple massage techniques such as petrissage, effleurage, friction, rhythmic tapping, and vibration with the intent to promote relaxation and increase blood flow. Deep tissue is the practice of holding static pressure and/or pressing firmer to access the deeper layers of muscle and fascia. This can assist in releasing chronic patterns of tension that may interfere with the proper functioning of the muscle.
Reiki
Reiki is a form of touch therapy involving laying on of hands to generate a self-healing response in the client’s body. It is based on the principle that our bodies are energetic in nature and can be treated by non-physical means. In a Reiki session, the practitioner lays their two hands at various locations on the body, directing universal healing energy into the client’s energetic field, triggers a healing response in the client. Reiki can promote relaxation, stress reduction, and various other physiological responses unique to the individual.
Reflexology
The theory of reflexology is based on the principle that there are ten longitudinal zones in our body, numbering from 1-5 on the right side and 1-5 on the left side. Every part of the body in a zone has a reflex area on the foot and hand. The big toe or thumb represents zone 1 and the little toe or pinky finger represents zone 5. By working the reflex area, you can affect the desired area of the body in that zone. Example: zone 1 travels up the center of the body. The big toe or thumb, which is zone 1, represents the head, sinuses, and sense organs. By working the big toe or thumb, you can relieve headaches with consistent application. Reflexology was studied, tested, and refined by Eunice Ingham, who originally learned about the idea of Zone Therapy, an oriental practice written about by Doctor William Fitzgerald in the early 1900s.
